2024 - 2025 School Year
Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Checks
If you are interested in volunteering in Gretna School in any capacity a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check must be completed.
A criminal record / vulnerable sector check application day has been set up for Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Altona Police Service office for any Manitoba resident who lives in RCMP jurisdiction.
The applicants will need to bring two acceptable pieces of government issued identification with one being photo, and the originals must be presented at the time of application with exact cash payment of $10 or acceptable volunteer letter. Volunteer letters must be on the organization’s letterhead, dated, have the applicant identified, and signed by the organization. Letters with blank lines for dates/names will not be accepted. If you need a letter to bring to the application day please call the school. We will get the required information from you and will provide a letter as required. If you would like we can also send it home with your child once the letter has been prepared.
Results for the CR/VS applications will be mailed out once completed.
We are unable to complete Criminal Record checks for anyone under the age of 18 unless it is required for purposes of employment or volunteer services with the federal, provincial or municipal government.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the school. If you are unable to make it to this day you will need to arrange for drop off at the Morden RCMP so this is a great opportunity to do this work locally and save yourself some time driving to Morden and back.
